I feel sorry for people who don’t have a dog, or more, in their lives. What wakes them up in the morning? How do you get out of bed each day without the gentle prod of a cold wet nose, urging you up and toward adventure?
Dogs bring so much to our lives. Mostly extra house work, especially in this muddy season of spring! But also love, joy, energy, optimism, inspiration and comfort. A dog is a best friend, a workout buddy, an alarm clock. The cleaner of the kitchen crumbs. They work in all kinds of roles helping people as guides, retrievers, detection dogs, herding, and as therapeutic companions. But most of all they teach us how to WANT to make another creature happy; how to appreciate the little things in life; how to communicate without a common language.
I started this blog as an outlet to explore the connection that people share with their canine family members. Here, I hope to introduce you to some extra special dogs and their human folk. Perhaps I’ll be able to entice you into trying a new game or activity with your pet, or help solve a particular training problem. We might touch on some regulations that affect dog ownership. And there will be times when I can share cool new products or services that will make your life with dogs better or easier in some way! There is a good chance that I will include some adorable dog photos and the occasional video clip too.
As I get started on this new journey, I would love to hear from you. If something I write strikes a chord, please let me know! If you think it may help some other dog lover, please share. Or if a cold wet nose prods you into an adventure that others pet people would be interested in, please reach out.
